The 2004 Nordic Roots Festival in Minneapolis, MN on September 17-19 is starting to come together. Artists booked so far include Phønix (DK), Harv (SWE), Flukt (NOR), Swåp (SWE/UK), Mari Boine Band (Sami/NOR), Roger Tallroth & Friends (SWE), Frigg (FIN/NOR) and Väsen Trio (SWE).
Threeman Recordings, the label run by some of the guys from Entombed along with Daniel Strachal, has signed a North American licensing deal with Candlelight Records. They'll be reissuing the label's catalogue over here, starting with Entombed's latest record "Inferno" in August. "We feel very pleased to finally have this deal up and running," commented Daniel, "And with a strong partner like Candlelight we hope that we can finally get our sought-after albums released properly stateside, especially Entombed, who has been shamelessly underexposed overseas since "Wolverine Blues". We have also received great interest for [Entombed side project] Murder Squad and The Project Hate. Our goal has always been availability and finally we and Candlelight can deliver." Entombed is also planning to tour the States in support as well. More details when I get them.
Don't forget that today is April Fool's Day. Take any iffy news released today with a large grain of salt.
