As was to be expected, Windir will not be continuing as a band following the death of frontman Terje "Valfar" Bakken in January. In his honor, the group will release a final double-CD collection. The first disc will contain new and unreleased material, tribute songs from other bands and live tracks. Disc two will essentially be a best-of comp with tracks spanning Valfar's entire career, from the "Sognariket" demo to the last album "Likferd". Tabu Recordings will release it around August or September and all benefits will go to Valfar's family.
There's a special show at Skeppsbro Källaren in Sundsvall this Friday. The owner has been going through some touch financial times, so a group of eight bands will be joining forces to help raise some money. The lineup: Lars Bygdén ($1000 Playboys, Bukks), The Charm, Small Town Pimps, Marble, Post Play, The Dice and The Confusions.
