Katatonia disapproves of the Black Lodge Records reissue of their old album "Dance of December Souls":
It has been known to us that Black Lodge Records are going to re-issue the old classic "Dance of December Souls" album. Although the CD could just as well have been re-pressed with the original cover and old logo, it now ridicules both the past and present by showing up with a new pathetic cover trying to depict elements from our last album and the abuse of the 'new era' logo on something that was released more than 10 year ago. Don't be fooled into confusing this is for a new Katatonia release. Consequently, we do not support this re-issue and take complete distance from its existance.

Umeå-based label Chalksounds is looking for shitworkers, ahem - I mean "interns", to help out with stuff like putting up posters, distributing flyers and what-not. The rewards aren't huge, but think of the awesome street cred! Go here for details: http://www.chalksounds.com/shownews.php?show=10

Stickman Records reports that they won't be doing vinyl for the new Soundtrack of Our Lives album as originally planned as Warner decided it would probably be much more profitable for them to do it on their own. That doesn't mean the two won't still collaborate however - plans are in the works for some other sort of vinyl project between the two.
Norway's Sell-Out Music will be releasing a new EP from the indie act Debrah in the near future. The disc will be called "Debrah does EP" and is said to sound like "a nice mix of Motorpsycho, Death Cab For Cutie, the Flaming Lips, Sparklehorse and Wilco."
In somewhat related news, Sell-Out also mentions that the US label Popkid might be licensing Kenneth Ishak from them for a North American release. Kenneth is the lead singer for the band Beezewax and his debut solo album "Northern exposure" came out earlier this year.
It shouldn't be news to anyone who regularly reads this site, but Export Music Sweden (ExMS) has posted a new newsletter: http://www.exms.com/pdf/smu/smu032004.pdf

I have no clue why they consider Motorpsycho a metal band, though.
