Denmark's Tiger Tunes reports that they have just finished doing a track for a record called "Captain Future Re-Animated" that will feature various contributors reworking and remixing the music from the TV cartoon "Captain Future". The program originally aired back in the late 70s/early 80s from what I understand.

"In the shadows" from Finland's The Rasmus is featured as the kick-off track on the upcoming Universal Music comp "The Dark Side". The tracklist is mostly a who's who of classic goth rock such as and Siouxsie & The Banshees, but there's also a few other curve balls like Faith No More with "Epic". Rap-rock on a "dark music" comp? Okay, whatever. (found via DJ Martian, full tracklist available)

The latest release from Norwegian avant label Rune Grammofon:

Scorch Trio - Luggumt
Follow-up to the highly acclaimed debut from 2002, this follows in the same supreme fashion, but differs in that it is a more varied recording. Bookended by two lenghty tour de force workouts, we get some lovely free playing demonstrating the great interplay these musicians are capable of, beautiful and mystical soundscapes and some strange Korean court music vibes. All in all another smashing release from guitarist Raoul Björkenheim and the great Norwegian rhythm section of bass player Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and drummer Paal Nilssen-Love.

Chalksounds wants y'all to know that they actually pay their interns. Friday's post might have implied that they are slave drivers, but it's really not true. Honest! Anyhow, they still need help, so get in touch if you're in the area.
