Modul3c is the name of a new experimental/noise label from Sweden. Their first release is the debut album "White" from the act Meltdown which is said to feature "40 minutes of highly monotone and mechanical noise". Coming up in September is "Vägen till Natanz" from Knös aka Fredrik Djurfeldt of Severe Illusion and Vanvård. That will be a 2xCD release featuring a new album worth of material alongside the unreleased record "Osero Imandra" from 2002. Samples and more info: http://www.modul3c.com/

New track today from Centimeter, a band that appears to have been kicking around Stockholm for the last few years, but only just now has released their first real single. It's not often that I get something totally new to me in the mail that I actually enjoy, but these guys are a strong exception to the rule. The most obvious (and lazy) point of comparison would be Kent, seeing as how these guys play dark, melancholy pop and sing in Swedish, but I think Centimeter is far more brooding and atmospheric. There's definite shoegazer tendencies too, that's for sure. The other demo tracks the band has up on their website are pretty dece as well, just a bit rougher production-wise. I look forward to hearing the full-length when it's finally released this fall.
