Swedish singer/songwriter Sophie Zelmani will be releasing a new CD entitled "A decade of dreams" in early November featuring a selection of her best material from her four albums as well as a few unreleased and newly-recorded songs such as the new single "I can't change".

Niklas Gustafsson, frontman for Swedish powerpop act The Higher Elevations, has signed a deal with Germany's Marsh Marigold for his solo project This Year's Model. A four-song vinyl EP entitled "Greetings from This Year's Model" will be released in late October.

I've been told this is a new project from Jessie Garon and Johnny Ola of the great C.Aarmé, but don't be expecting any sort of snotty punk - no, this is dirgy, goth/EBM music - still very good, but very very different.
The last post in this week of new and up-and-coming acts comes from Barcelona. Well, actually the band is called I'm From Barcelona, but the band themselves are from Sweden. I've been a fan of frontman Emanuel Lundgren's music from the very first moment I heard him with Valley Days and his new act is just as good, if not better. The best thing about it is just how amazingly joyous it sounds. Every song is a bountiful pop symphony. I'm a sucker for self-aware/self-referencial art, so I picked "The painter" as the track to post here, but I like said, every song they've recorded so far is wonderful.
