London-based Scandinavian music showcase Ja Ja Ja will celebrate their 2nd anniversary in November with a marketing and networking workshop event hosted by NOMEX and Record of the Day: http://www.exportmusicsweden.org/2011/10/jajaja-celebrates-its-2-years-anniversary/
The usual club show will happen as well and will feature French Films, Marit Larsen and Sóley.
Preview a track from New Rose off their debut LP "Tracklist within", out now via . Quite a bit more rockin' than I'm used to hearing from that label these days, which is of course no bad thing.
has announced that they will be releasing the new Almedal digital single "Du kan aldrig få mig hel" on November 3. They'll also be following that up with a new self-titled EP From Happy Hands Club on November 16 which will be available both as a digital download and as a 12" -- hear a sample tune above.
Hederos & Hellberg, the piano/vocals duo of Martin Hederos (The Soundtrack of Our Lives/Tonbruket) and Mattias Hellberg, will be getting back together for a tour this coming February in addition to releasing their 2003 farewell concert as a proper album. I can't remember if it was originally broadcast on P3 Live or what, but I do know that I have a quality bootleg of the show in my mp3 library and, yes, it is quite good.
Looking for a little Halloween music and don't want the usual goth/industrial recommendations I hand out? I highly recommend Matti Bye and Mattias Olsson's collaboration album "Elephant & Castle" -- it's the perfect soundtrack of creepy calliope tunes ala "Something wicked this way comes", great any time of year but especially perfect for this particular weekend. And if someone from is watching, I'd sure love a copy of that limited edition box set w/the Edison cylinder, but somehow I imagine I'll have to settle for one of the less-fancy copies. Full details here: http://www.kningdisk.com/index_elephantandcastle.htm
Just posted today, a brand new video from Norwegian progressive rock act White Willow. The band's new album "Terminal twilight" is getting rave reviews all over the place and is well-worth checking out even if the "progressive" tag might frighten you -- basement-dwelling D&D nerds, these are not.
Members of the Norwegian indie acts Mylittlepony, The Little Hands of Asphalt, Monzano and Einar Stray are joining forces to record a Christmas album as the band Sunturns. Said album, which is simply titled "Christmas", will include new tunes, covers of songs from the various member's individual catalogs, as well as covers of Low's "Just like Christmas" and Swearing At Motorists' "Losing mine" and will be released on November 25 via .
