Bands announced for next year's 2004 Scandinavian Alternative Music Awards (SAMA) concert on April 2 at Trädgår’n in Göteborg: Alice In Videoland (SWE), And One (GER), Backlash (SWE), Panzerveps (NOR), Slagsmålsklubben (SWE) and Sophie Rimheden (SWE). Diamond Dogs lead vocalist Sulo is, uh, going solo with a new album called "Rough Diamonds". Apparently it's already been six years in the making and will be out sound via Sound Pollution.
On October 31 Electric FINland will do a showcase at Desmet Studio as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). Artists scheduled to appear include Koneveljet, Mac Mavis, Quintessence, ToneKroup and DJs Borzin and Jean-Peter. Read more.
Besides that record release show at Cillas Kök in Malmö on October 17 I mentioned yesterday, Bjorns Vanner will also be doing two in-stores that same day at Folk & Rock in Malmö (4pm) and Lund (5:30pm).
Finland's Imperanon are now the latest signing of Nuclear Blast Records. "Fans [of] Children of Bodom, Bightwish and Sonanta Arcticawill very soon add us to their list of favorite bands from Finland and many others will follow!" they say. The band plans to enter Sonic Pump Studios sometime in November with engineer Nino Laurenne and producer Titus Hjelm to commence work on their debut album, tentatively due out next May or June. Here's another flash e-card, this time for Nicolai Dunger featuring his new single "Hunger". I do believe it will actually hit stores tomorrow despite the previously announced delay. The title of his new album has also been confirmed and it's a doozy: "Here’s my song, you can have it... I don’ want it anymore /Yours 4-ever Nicolai Dunger". Awesome.

Duplicate Records, the label of Einar from Beyond Dawn and Virus, will be putting out an as-yet-untitled release from Norway's Syracus come mid-November. The band is described as melodic rock along the lines of Radiohead, Smashing Pumpikins and Anekdoten. Vendlus will handle the release for the US.
Monastir has confirmed that their new EP "Shape Up" will be out on November 5. They are currently working on a video for the title track with Martin Larsson of Polfilm.
