Via DJ Martian comes word that Norweigan avant-metal/"schizo-metal" band Atrox is getting quite of positive press for their new album "Orgasm" on Code666. 4Ks from Kerrang and this glowing review from MetalReview.com. Code666 seems to be a label to watch these days as they appear to be putting out consistently good and challenging heavy music and that's no mean feat.

P3 Musikjournalen has confirmed the schedule for next year's Popstad festival and you can go here for the details. As usual, it's a ton of bands from all different genres and you'll be able to listen live either in Sweden on the radio or via webcast online. Or you could even attend in person, I guess. The dates are February 13-14 in Jönköping, Sweden.

Sweden's The Quill has been added to the lineup of the upcoming European Monster Magent tour which also already includes Gluecifer. The Quill features current Spiritual Beggers/ex-Firebird bass player Roger Nilsson in its ranks and their fourth album "Hooray! It's a Deathtrip" was released in September on SPV/Steamhammer.

Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki has checked in via his website with an update on the current band "crisis", confirmed that keyboardist Jens Johansson is still with the band and Timo Kotipelto and Jörg Michael are out. There's no word on replacements yet, but if you want the details so far, go here.
