After a long bout of silence, Norwegian electro act Datarock checks in with some updates. First off, keyboard player Tom left the group last August and the remaining two guys decided to soldier on without him. They'll still employ people from their 40-some 'associated members' list as needed at future gigs, so keep on the lookout. In other news, the group recorded some basic tracks with Vilunki 3000 (And the Lefthanded, Uusi Fantasia) while on tour over in Finland. No word on what will come of it, but I'll try my best to keep you posted.

Word has it that Meshuggah will release their new EP on June 22 through Fractured Transmitter Records. As mentioned before, the EP will consist of one 20+ minute long track and Fractured Transmitter is the label of Mushroomhead vocalist Jason Mann.

Hammerfall lead vocalist Joacim Cans will release his debut solo album "Beyond the Gates" in the US on May 11 through Sanctuary/Noise Records.
