Differnet debuted a cover version version of the CDOASS song "Airplanes" the other day at their show in Fagersta. A studio version will be included on the upcoming album "Against the Musicians" alongside collaborations with Radio Dept., Action Biker and more.

Yet another Finnish goth-influenced band has signed with a major and is being prepped for the international scene. This times it's The 69-Eyes who just recently announced their deal with EMI/Virgin. A new single called "Lost Boys" comes out in about three weeks and the band reports they are about halfway done recording the new full-length with producer Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Sentenced, Moonspell).

Metal Blade has confirmed a August 9 European release date for the posthumous album "Crowned Unholy" from The Crown. The album is a remake of the band's fifth album "Crowned In Terror", with newly re-recorded vocals from returned frontman Johan Lindstrand who was replaced by Tomas Lindberg (At the Gates, Disfear, etc.) on the original version. It also includes new bass tracks by Magnus Olsfelt, a new version of the intro music, digitally enhanced drum tones and 'cool synthesizer-spiced parts.' A bonus DVD will be included as well.

Pan Sonic has been confirmed for two new festival appearances this summer, the Musiques Innovatrices in Saint-Etienne, France on June 10-18 and the Synch, Lavrio Technological & Cultural Park in Athens, Greece on June 3-5. More info on the first one here, the latter here.

In other news, Tiger reports that German label Pleasure Syndicate will rerelease his old Araki Ikara album on vinyl with special hand-screened covers. They should be ready in time for the upcoming tour.

To celebrate their 10-year anniversary, Swedish darkwave act Arcana will be doing a 'label split' release with Frédéric Arbour's Cyclic Law and their own Erebus Odora Records. It will feature unreleased tracks, alternative versions and new songs, all packaged in a special 'tall digipack' alongside a booklet with writing about the group's history. A release has been tentatively set for mid-July.
