As DJ Martian points out, it's really curious how little attention EST gets outside Europe. Their sound is sure to appeal to a wide cross-section of music-lovers across many genres, from jazz to post-rock and beyond. Perhaps their label doesn't quite understand how to make them appear hip?
The lineup for this year's Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville (FIMIV05) in Quebec on May 19-23 has been announced and will include Lars Hollmer as well as a host of other international musicians involved in the avant music world. More info: http://www.fimav.qc.ca/
Ex-3rd and the Mortal vocalist Kari Rueslåtten will have her solo debut album "Spindelsinn" reissued on March 16 via GMR Music subsidiary Peach Music. The disc will be remastered and will include two bonus tracks.

Finland's Stratovarius will make their US debut at this year's ProgPower Festival in Atlanta, GA this coming September. We'll see if the notorious Timo Tolkki can hold it together that long to make it happen.

Silence has confirmed that they will release the debut full-length album "More, More, More, More" from Swedish girl-rockers Chick Habit on March 23. Their second single "Rule The World" comes out later this month.
David Fridlund will release "White van" as the next single from his debut solo album "Amaretsu". The disc will be a family affair as it will include "Days That Can Be Ours" from main squeeze Sara Culler and "Bluelipscold" from his brother Joel as b-sides. Look for it on February 21. In other news, Japan's 1977 Records has licensed "Amaretsu" for release and will include the songs "Dollhouse" and "It's all Right, I'm on Your Side" as bonus tracks. 1977 will also be putting out a self-titled David & the Citizens collection featuring a wide selection of the band's catalogue.
