Ulver mainman Kristoffer G. Rygg (aka Garm) is teaming up with Daniel Cardoso (ex-Sirius) for a new experimental heavy-rock project entitled Sindrome. As some of you are probably aware, the new album has already leaked to p2p and is being discussed on message boards. I'm still on the fence with my assessment, but my initial reaction is that I am underwhelmed.

I haven't had a chance to listen yet, but the band is being described as a young Swedish Springsteen by Realease, the label distributing the release.
The new "My brain is rotten" EP from Umeå's Rabid Grannies will be released on May 20 via the always-excellent Wasted Sounds. The band is influenced by 80s punk such as Negative Approach, Gang Green and Black Flag and also shows their roots with a touch of DS13 and Randy thrown into the mix. Check out some samples:

Also out May 20 from Wasted Sounds is yet another Swedish d-beat split, this time with Reign of Bombs and Assembly Line Crucifixion. Samples:
New tune today from Eskju Divine, the title track from their latest EP "Struck by the halo". They've got quite a lush, dreamy sound for being a mere bass, drums and keyboard trio. Some of that has to do with their decision to bathe every sound in reverb, giving the melodies a soft, floating quality. This song starts off strong with a militaristic drumbeat reminiscent of classic U2 before flying off towards the skies with lilting, falsetto vocals. Definitely a step up from their already-excellent debut EP - can't wait to hear what they do with a full album.
