I was forunate enough to receive a CDR copy of this the other week and can happily report that the band is getting better and better with each new release. I still think they overplay a bit, but there are far worse musical crimes than that.

It's Memorial Day here in the US, so I'm gonna keep this short so I can go out and enjoy my day off.
New mp3 today from the terminally underrated Norwegian act Beyond Dawn off of their new 2xLP remix album "We're down with species of any kind". As one would expect from such a project, it's a mixed bag of sounds and styles. This Snuten track that I picked to share with y'all is the funnest of the bunch. Who would've thought that the sounds of West Coast hip-hop would work so well in such a context? It's especially exciting to hear a piece like this and to compare it to the band's early doom roots. I can't think of any other act that's progressed so far and managed to stay interesting and relevant their whole career. It just doesn't happen. It makes me all the more excited to hear the forthcoming 3xCD 15th anniversary comp "Strictly Mondays – 15 Years Far From Showbiz". Can't wait.
