Norway's Kaizers Orchestra are the spotlight artist over at Allmusic.com right now. I'm happy to see the band get more international attention, but I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed by the new record "Maestro". It's the epitome of a major-label debut. The songs are still good, but the performances are stilted and the recording is totally overproduced. Where's the danger? Where's the fun? (via)
Mayhem has decided upon "Ordo ab chao" as the title for their next album, tentatively due out late 2005/early 2006 via Season of Mist. This record marks the return of original session vocalist Attila Csihar who first appeared on 1993's legendary "De mysteriis dom sathanas".
Swedish label Lady Godiva Operations has officially called it quits. Release the Bats will probably take most of their left over records.
Norwegian singer/songwriter William Hut is back from summer vacation and reports that he recorded three new songs over the summer, but isn't sure that they're right for the new album so he's going to go back to doing demos again. The plan is to finish everything in time for a spring 2006 release. In other news, he's also started working with Orbo and the Longshots as his new backing band and will be doing a few gigs around Bergan in the near future.
