"24 Hour Drone People" is the somewhat self-explanatory name of an event being put on by Joachim Nordwall and iDEAL Recordings set to transpire February 23-24 at Fylkingen in Stockholm. Twelve internationally regarded experimental artists are booked to participate including Hildur Gudnadottir, Hild Sofie Tafjord (Fe-Mail), Jacob Kirkegaard, BJ Nilsen, CM Von Hausswolff, Mika Vainio (Pan Sonic), Jean-Louis Huhta (Skull Defekts, Anti-Cimex), Henrik Rylander (Skull Defekts, Union Carbide Productions) as well as Joachim himself. The Susanna & The Magical Orchestra cover of Prince's "Condition of the heart" will be included on an upcoming Prince tribute compiled by Rapster Records, due out in February. Another notable contributor is Stina Nordenstam, whose near-unrecognizable version of "Purple rain" originally appeared on her 1998 album "People are strange". In Flames has signed with Koch for the North American release of their next album "A sense of purpose". It will be out over here on April 1.

Not only will all of their releases be distributed with a Creative Commons license (just like my own netlabel releases), they'll also be posted for free download the same day the physical edition is available in stores. First up is female artist Tone with her debut record "Small arm of sea", due out January 21.

Håkan Hellström's new Jocke Åhlund-produced (Caesars, Teddybears Sthlm) album is confirmed for release on March 26. It was also announced that Håkan will play Way Out West in August, an occurrence his publicist compares to "Oasis performing in Manchester."

Danish metalcore act As We Fight is currently at Smart N Hard Studio with producer/engineer Jacob Bredahl (Hatesphere, Machinemade God) working on their next album. The band says they'll be toning down the rock influence to create a more straight-up metal album.

The reclusive Sally Shapiro and producer Johan Agebjörn are coming over for a few North American dates in March:
