Jenny Wilson to release double album, tour

Gaffa reports that Jenny Wilson is (thankfully!) recovered enough from her breast cancer scare to be touring again this spring: http://gaffa.se/nyhet/46337
She also apparently has a new double album on the way as well, entitled "Blazing".

MP3: Mandorla - Heartbeats away from my love

Mandorla is currently being promoted as "the Swedish equivalent to The Beach Boys" according to some unnamed journalist and it's not too hard to see why once you hear the lush vocal harmonies on "Heartbeats away from my love", the band's new single off the forthcoming album "Based on an idea by...". They're obviously not doing too much to break new ground here, but there is certainly something to be said for the craftsmanship that goes into absolutely nailing it, and nail it they certainly do. No idea exactly when the record will be out, but they are saying sometime in March.

Sebastian Wijk album sampler

Can't say that I'm all that stoked on Sebastian Wijk's acoustic pop warble, but I am impressed by the closed-captioning links on this YouTube clip that turn it into an effective e-card. Hooray for technology! Sebastian's album "Down below" is out today, January 26; download an alternative acoustic version of lead single "A throw-away letter" right here: http://bit.ly/eGY6W9

The Crypt to reissue A Canorous Quintet

/ will be reissuing A Canorous Quintet's full discography including their '93 demo "The time of autumn" on vinyl for what I believe will be the very first time. The band's two full-lengths ("Silence of the world beyond" and "The only pure hate") were both originally released on in '96 and '98 respectively with the EP "As tears" preceding both in '95 via .

New video, album from Grace.Will.Fall

It's been over a year since Grace.Will.Fall's last album was released, but I suppose that doesn't mean they still can't make a video for a tune off it. Not that watching a hardcore band perform on a big stage with a huge audience barrier is all that exciting, but whatever, I'm not that big on the band in the first place. Anyway, look for their new all-Swedish album "Punkjävlar" to be released on February 25 via .

MP3: Torpedo - Waiting for the fall

Not that O-Zone has a monopoly on the whole "Mai ai hee" chant, but it is funny to hear it compared against Torpedo's new single "Waiting for the fall" since the two songs are world's apart. Or are they?

Monument - Jennifer

Yet another Swedish band with the name Monument? And with a similar goth/post-punk sound to boot. Not that I'm complaining since it's definitely a scene I'm into, but I must admit a slight preference for the more romantic sound of the OGs over the newbs' colder vibes. Still good though, no denying, but maybe they should start thinking about new names. Anyhow, check out the band's debut 7" "Teeth & tails", out now via their own and keep an eye out for another to be released soon once they finish mixing.
